Prescription Orthotics

Prescription orthotics look like insoles, but are biomechanical appliances that are custom made to correct your feet much like glasses work on your eyes—they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. Orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole—and they have the advantage of being made from precise measurements of your feet. Custom orthotics can help correct foot and ankle abnormalities and can often help correct or support hip, knee, and back issues. Orthotics are commonly prescribed for plantar fascitis, knee arthritis, spinal degeneration, and/or chronic ankle sprains and strains.

GatiScan™ has set the industry standard with its 4096 sensors and scans that scan your feet at 300Hz (scans per second).

Assessing your Gait

In addition to a full orthopaedic examnation of your feet, we use the GaitScan™ to assess your gait (how you walk). The sensitive pressure point analysis measures where you have the most stresses and strains on your feet and how long you spend on those areas when you walk. We then determine how this compares to a “normal” foot or gait. The orthotic devices are then created based on your individual needs as demonstrated on your scan.
